Lindy calls itself an AI employee that plugs into a team's tools, learns how its users work and takes routine work off their hands1. In practice it is closest to a capable assistant: it acts in the user's own inbox, calendar and phone integrations rather than as a colleague with its own identity.

Best for: Owners, executives and small teams that want one AI assistant to run inboxes, calendars, meeting notes, lead replies and routine calls inside the tools they already use.

Not the right fit for: Companies that want AI teammates with their own identity working inside a shared system of record.

What Lindy does

Lindy's roles include an executive assistant that runs the inbox, calendar and meetings and sends a daily brief; a receptionist that picks up calls and fills the calendar; and a sales development rep that replies to new leads and books meetings1. It takes meeting notes, sends follow-ups and connects to more than 1,500 integrations and any hosted MCP server.

Approval is built in. At first, anything with outside impact, such as sending an email, waits for the user's agreement; once a job is trusted, Lindy can run it end to end12. Lindy states SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, PIPEDA and HIPAA compliance, and that data is not sold or used to train models; audit logs, SSO and HIPAA with a signed agreement are Enterprise features2.

Work is metered in credits: from 2 to 250 for everyday requests, up to 1,000 for deep research and up to 2,500 for large builds. Monthly credits do not roll over, and when they run out Lindy pauses rather than billing extra2.

Published evidence

  • Ankor. Ankor’s CEO is quoted on Lindy’s site saying Lindy gives him at least a fivefold return on investment. Vendor-published testimonial.1

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • Quick to start: $50 in free credits with no card required, and a stated setup time of about two minutes.
  • Anything with outside impact, such as sending an email, waits for approval until you hand a job over in full.
  • States SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, PIPEDA and HIPAA compliance; data is not used to train models.

Limits

  • Works through your connected Gmail, Outlook and phone integrations; its pages do not describe a separate inbox or number for the assistant.
  • Billed per active user, and every task consumes credits, from a few for a lookup to 2,500 for a large build.
  • Audit logs, SSO and HIPAA with a signed agreement are Enterprise features at custom prices.

Choose another option if: You want AI teammates that customers can reach at their own address and number, working on shared company records rather than one person’s tools.

Pricing

Published: free trial with $50 in credits; Team from $29.99 per active user a month for 3,000 credits, with larger credit tiers; extra credits $10 per 1,000; Enterprise custom.

Questions to ask Lindy

  • How many credits does our typical week of inbox and call work use?
  • Can a teammate have its own address and number, or does it always act as one of our users?
  • Which actions can stay on approval permanently?
  • Which features we need, such as audit logs, are Enterprise-only?
